There are a number of new or newer Asheville home communities in and around Asheville, Arden, Hendersonville and surrounding areas. Fortunately, slope ordinances restrict density of development, address erosion issues, and help prevent "eyesore" development.
While many people desire new homes for a variety of reasons, it is important to understand that currently, the inventory of brand new homes is pretty limited. Remember that we are just pulling out of a recession that screeched home-building to a halt in 2008, so very, very few homes have been built in Western North Carolina since then!
Additionally, the Asheville area was a little late to the building boom, so while many new homes were built prior to 2008, our area actually saw less "boom" construction than many areas of the country.
So while I will do my best to find you the home of your dreams, that home may have to be an older home that you "make new!"
Featured Community: Biltmore Lake
Biltmore Lake is a lovely newer home community just 15 minutes southwest of downtown Asheville. Nestled in gentle rolling hills, Biltmore Lake features a 62 acre lake in the center of the community. The lake provides plenty of recreational opportunities for residents, including a walking trail, swimming area, and non-powered boating. On the banks of the lake is a clubhouse, playground, and tennis and basketball courts. To me, Biltmore Lake has the feel of being at summer camp (well, until you look around and see all the lovely homes rather than cabins or tents!).
Biltmore Lake is located on the outskirts of Asheville. Enka High School, Enka Middle School and the Hominy Valley Elementary School are adjacent to the community.
Homes in Biltmore Lake range from the mid-300s upwards of the million dollar range. There are a variety of styles, sizes, and floor plans available in spec and custom built homes. There are also two gated neighborhoods within the community.
