February Property Sales Up from 2011
According to an article in the Asheville Citizen-Times yesterday, February home sales in Buncombe County rose 22.8% over February, 2011. While some increase may be due to a milder winter, all indicators point toward a recovering housing market, here and nationwide! Woohoo!

The good news for sellers is that sales are on the rise, and with more buyers buying, sellers have a better chance of selling. We are also starting to see sales in more price points, rather than just the under $300,000 mark. At the same time, prices are not increasing, and in fact the median home price in Buncombe County was down 8% from February last year.
So the good news for buyers is that prices are still low (for our area - these aren't "steals and deals") and interest rates are still low.
To quote money advisor guru David Bach, "if you don't buy a house this year, you will kick yourself next year."
