I love living in Asheville! I grew up about 50 miles west of Asheville, lived in Virginia (gave tours at Colonial Williamsburg -- ask me how that prepared me for a real estate career!) and other parts of North Carolina, but I could never adjust to life without the mountains. And Asheville provides me with the culture and social activity along with hiking and mountain biking (I have to get back on that thing soon).
I kind of fell into real estate in 2001, and I quickly knew I had finally found my groove. Real Estate is my business, and I don't dabble in it, selling an occasional home. It is my full-time profession. I love everything about it: working with people to find the right home; selling homes so that folks can move along to the next phase. I even like the marketing and the paperwork! In fact, I love it so much that my husband and I have just opened (in January, 2013) our own RE/MAX office in Asheville: RE/MAX Results!
So what I can offer to you is an agent who cares about your best interests (really), will understand your needs and tries to work with them whether it is your budget or chemical sensitivities or needing the right place for your pets! Finding a home is a cooperative process between buyer and agent, and it can be very positive and fun.
I understand that people sell homes for a lot of reasons. Some of those, especially these days, aren't fun. I have worked with people in financial distress to avoid foreclosure, people going through the loss of a loved one, people in the unhappy process of divorce. I don't "enjoy" these transactions, but I am happy if I can make the process easier. It is fun to help people sell who are excited about moving on to the next phase. That could be moving for a retirement dream, downsizing so they can travel, upsizing to their dreamhouse, or joining households with someone they love.
Real estate, to me, mirrors life in that it is about the relationships. I bring the experience and education to the relationship and transaction.
I have exceeded basic licensee training by earning my Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designations as well as the e-Pro designation and the North Carolina Broker's license. I am one of the few ECO Envrionmental Consultants agents in the area. I am also a Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE).
I will continue to enrich my knowledge of the Real Estate business in order to better serve my clients. I do take my business seriously, and believe that customer service is the most important thing I do.
I try to stay involved in my community and networked to provide you, my client, with the best services for whatever you may need. Having grown-up in Western North Carolina, I can help you find the right neighborhood or town as well as the best hiking trails, gardens, craft centers and local restaurants!
I also have moved a good bit, in and out of North Carolina, so I know how stressful the process can be. I will do all I can to ease your transition and look forward to working with you!

When I am not selling Real Estate I enjoy gardening, hiking, & fitness. We also finally finished remodeling and sold our beloved North Asheville Bungalow! Downsized and simplified so that we can travel more. I now live in West Asheville with my husband, Jimmy, our dog, Nestle, and 3 precocious cats.
